Mahesh Bhatt whose movies have been a launchpad to many girls in Bollywood, is going to personally visit Bigg Boss house to meet Sunny Leone, discuss the script of Jism 2 with her and find out if she is okay with doing the film.
Sunny Leone earlier in Bigg Boss told Sky and Amar about casting couch offers in Bollywood that have come her way, which is why she had rejected the offers.
Bhatt meanwhile, says that Jism 2 will be based in Delhi and the female protagonist is not going to be based in Delhi but will play a small-town girl from Himachhal, Shimla or Nainita who moves to Delhi. He continues, “The movie is about how she survives in that world and gets into the most bizarre zones. It’ll be shot in the city’s discotheques, and we’ll capture its fast life and the drug scene here. The movie will essentially focus on how the character lives on the edge.”
What about negative reactions that he will get for casting an adult star? Mahesh Bhatt says, ”We are living in the age of test tube babies, wombs on rent etc. I think the idea of looking down upon an adult star is passe; it needs to be junked into the dustbin of history. The truth is that people watch Sunny every day on a TV show and she is a part of our household now.”
He says that there is a reason for considering Sunny for the film “Bold entertainers have always caught my imagination because I feel that life is not what it appears to be for them. The struggle they go through is what made me choose Sunny. Beyond the glamor of the adult star, there is her dark, painful journey – that’s what I want to explore, provided Sunny allows me to. But the movie will not be her autobiography. Sunny is of Indian origin and looks decent to me, but there is a residue of the struggle which is also visible, and that is true for every entertainer. If she has shed her clothes and entertained people through such movies, she has also shed her inhibitions. But to shed your clothes is one thing, and to allow people to access your inner being is something else.”
Mahesh Bhatt says that it was Pooja Bhatt’s decision to cast Sunny Leone in Jism 2. “It is Pooja’s decision. She wanted to cast her in ‘Jism’ but things didn’t materialise. She wanted someone real. Someone who has not yet been touched by Bollywood. Hence, Sunny has been finalized.”
