Bouts of mania, irritability and depression are evident in people with bipolar disorder. A psychologist Amit Bhawani says, “Most of the symptoms that Pooja Missra exhibits hints at bipolar disorder. Her violent behavior at times, increased level of aggression, hostile nature and then suddenly becoming cool later are evident signs. However, Pooja’s case is moderate and can be treated with psychotherapy and medications.”
Psychologist Sandhya Rawat explains “Imbalances in the secretion of neurotransmitters in the brain can cause depressive and manic episodes. It can also run in family and be genetic. Pooja Missra is known to wear bright colored dresses; some of them look out of place on her. The behavior of painting her face like a joker, being spaced out, getting into fights, feeling shunned are symptoms of bipolar disorder.
